Black-and-white portrait of William Zhang holding a camera against a sunrise over mountains and a lake
Meet the photographer

Hello, my name is William Zhang

I'm a Los Angeles-based photographer drawn to landscapes, open skies, and the texture of cities in motion. I grew up across three continents before the age of ten — which is where the name of this site comes from. TCK, third culture kid, felt like the most honest way to describe both where I'm from and how I see.

That upbringing gave me an instinctive curiosity for new places and the life that fills them. My work is guided by attentiveness more than agenda — a willingness to simply be present until something reveals itself.

A monk in saffron robes standing before a blue wooden storefront
On the street, a quiet moment in saffron and blue…
Restaurant window layering diners with a reflected riverside street
…or a fleeting scene framed by a café window.
A rainbow falling onto farms in a green valley
In nature, the few perfect minutes after a storm passes, when the world briefly feels like a gift.

My images are available as prints, and I welcome commissions.
